Contact Me

A native of Quincy, I retired from my position with the National Weather Service (NWS) in April of 2020 after 35 years of government service. I worked at the NWS offices in Providence, RI; Charleston, SC and Portland, Maine through my career. However, I spent most of my career in the Boston area.  I worked at the Blue Hill Observatory in Milton, the previous NWS office at Logan Airport as well as in Taunton and Norton. The NWS office moved into a state-of-the-art facility at the Norton Commerce Center in March 2018.  Staff members at the Norton office have conducted office tours for students from 5th grade through high school and early college level, though this has ended for the foreseeable future in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.  There had been many tours for a wide variety of groups from across the area of responsibility, which included northern Connecticut, Rhode Island and most of Massachusetts over the years. Depending upon possible improvement of COVID conditions, limited tours and office visits may return.  Please e-mail me at evaltal@comcast.net or drop me a note on my Twitter feed at (@El_ValTal_99). I can reach my contacts in Norton to see if outreach visits and tours may return.  Have a good conference!!  :)
